TIPS FOR REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE TO KNOWN TOXINS/ CARCINOGENS  (From Environmental Working Group www.ewg.org)

  1. Filter your tap water
  2. Stay safe in the sun : wear protective clothing and use a safe effective sunscreen
  3. Cut down on fatty meat and high-fat dairy products:  long lasting cancer-causing pollutants like dioxins and PCBs concentrate in animal fat
  4. Eat organic fruits and vegetables, particularly for EWG’s Dirty Dozen: many pesticides have been linked to cancer
  5. Cut your exposure to Bisphenol-A (BPA), a synthetic estrogen that may increase risk of reproductive system cancers: choose water bottles free of BPA, eat fewer canned foods
  6. Avoid carcinogens in cosmetics : www.cosmeticdatabase.com to find products free of chemicals  known or suspected to cause cancer
