A HUGE part of my education with patients, is in teaching them to EAT FOOD! Here is where I comment and make suggestions about determining if what you are eating is actually food, and if eating it will contribute to health or disease.

My Food Rules: EAT FOOD. ENJOY EATING IT!

I get asked all of the time, “What diet do you recommend?” and my answer is, quite simply, I recommend the “EAT FOOD DIET”.  Yep, that’s it. My very Simple Food Rules are 1. EAT FOOD. 2.  ENJOY EATING IT.
So what exactly do I mean by “EAT FOOD”? Well, before you buy, order or eat any food-type product, check out the ingredients list. (If the food doesn’t come in a package or even have an ingredients list, GREAT! That means it’s likely REAL, HONEST-TO-GOD FOOD in it’s original form. EAT IT!) Continue reading
